Suarez bagged himself 31 goals last season, helping the club to a strong second place finish in the Premier League.

He shares the accolade with Cristiano Ronaldo and was handed it by Dalglish, the man who brought him to Anfield, in Barcelona on Wednesday.

However, he left to join Spanish giants Barcelona over the summer in a £75m deal, and is set to finally make his debut for the side in their upcoming El Classico clash later this month.

“I do not think anyone will be able to stop him,” Dalglish said.

“Luis has been fantastic everywhere he’s been, at his clubs and with his country. He has always been hugely entertaining.

“There is no reason why that will not continue at Barcelona. But if there is a problem I’m sure [Liverpool] can take him back on loan.”
