Gunners to free up wage bill funds with Ozil sale.
Arsenal’s proposed sale of Mesut Ozil could help push through their bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira this January, according to Spanish source Fichajes.net.

The Gunners are known to have been keen on Khedira in the past, but struggled to match his wage demands during the summer due to a number of other high earners currently on their books.
Ozil is certainly up there with the club’s highest earners, and it may now be that Arsene Wenger will be happy to let the German playmaker go in an attempt to free up funds for his international team-mate.
Wenger is desperate to bring in a top class defensive player, and Khedira undoubtedly fits the bill after his fine form and key roles for club and country in a trophy-laden career so far.
Big clubs such as Manchester City and Bayern Munich are chasing Ozil, and there’s no doubt that he could attract a big transfer fee as Arsenal will be determined to make up for the club-record £42.5m fee they paid to sign him from Real Madrid on deadline day last summer.
Khedira has also been linked with Chelsea and Juventus in recent times.
