Napoli expect departure of star player.
Liverpool could be set for a major boost to their transfer plans as Fichajes.net reports that Serie A side Napoli are ready to sell star striker Gonzalo Higuain next summer.
The prolific Argentine has been linked strongly with the Reds in recent months, and it has now emerged that Rafael Benitez’s side are already considering possible replacements for him upfront as they do not expect to keep him at the club for much longer.
Higuain was in fine form for Napoli last season following a move from Real Madrid, and although he has been slow to get going this season, he now looks like reaching his best form again with an impressive run of five goals in his last three appearances.
There’s no doubt the 26-year-old could prove a top signing for Liverpool as they continue to search for replacements for Luis Suarez, with Mario Balotelli not reaching anywhere near his top form since moving to Anfield from AC Milan this summer.
It could even be that Balotelli will be Napoli’s replacement for Higuain upfront, with recent reports suggesting that the troubled Italian could be on their transfer radar for the upcoming January transfer window.
