Anfield boss full of praise for Bernabeu star.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has declared Cristiano Ronaldo the world’s best player ahead of his side’s encounter with Real Madrid on Tuesday evening according to Goal.com.
The Bernabeu star has been in breathtaking form this season, already racking up 20 goals in all competitions, and Rodgers will no doubt fear more are to follow against his struggling side in their Champions League encounter.
Real Madrid hit the top of the La Liga table after securing their eleventh win on the trot in all fixtures and Liverpool may struggle to shackle Ronaldo and co.
“Ronaldo is, at this moment in time, the best player in the world,” he told reporters.
“He will tell you himself it is very much about the team. They have some outstanding players in [Karim] Benzema, Isco, [Luka] Modric and [Toni] Kroos.
“He is the catalyst of that team and let’s hope he doesn’t score too many more tomorrow.”
No doubt traveling Liverpool fans will have similar hopes…
