Madrid megastar deals massive blow to Man United’s hopes.
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has sought to put an end to rumours concerning his future by re-affirming his desire to stay in the Spanish capital to see out the remainder of his career, according to the Daily Star.
The 29-year-old Portugal star has interested Manchester United, who were weighing up a big-money move in the summer.
United had been weighing up a move for him back in the summer transfer window, but the deal was held up as the Glazer family considered their financial stance on bringing him back.
However, still with four-years left to run on his current deal, Ronaldo has said that he intends stay with the club and see out his contract.
“We’ll have to speak to Florentino [Perez, the Real Madrid president] about extending my contract,” he said.
“I’m very happy, enjoying life and in great form. I try to give my best out on the pitch and achieve everything possible for the club because the thing I like the most is winning.
“I hope to stay at Real Madrid until the end of my contract when I’m 33 and we’ll see if the president wants to extend it for a few more years.”
