Sakho has been in fine form for the Hammers since joining from Metz over the summer and last month the striker scored three goals and provided one assist as West Ham beat QPR, Burnley and Manchester City.

The other nominees were Sergio Aguero, Everton’s Leighton Baines, Saido Berahino of West Bromwich Albion, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and Southampton’s Dusan Tadic.

Aguero scored the most goals over the period, netting an impressive five for City as they beat Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, but surprisingly lost to Sam Allardyce’s men at Upton Park.

Baines meanwhile was the most creative, providing four assists from his left-back position as the Toffees lost to Manchester United, but beat Villa and the Clarets.

Sanchez and Tadic join Sakho as the three new signings on the list, with the trio having all been in fine form since arriving in English football.

The Chile international score three and provided one assist for the Gunners in October as they lost to Chelsea, drew with Hull City and beat Sunderland, whilst the Saints winger score one goal and created three others as Ronald Koeman’s side lost to Tottenham, but beat Stoke City and the Black Cats.
