The Gunner came second in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen in the 2007-08 season, but since then he has not come close to winning a league title.

However, he was part of Germany’s World Cup winning squad in Brazil.

Gooners will not be enthused by this admission, as the club chase a first Premier League championship since 2004.

At 30 years old, the German has got several seasons left in which to win a league, but he claims that he would not mind if he didn’t.
