4. Ron Vlaar – Aston Villa
The Villa defender is clearly the best of a bad bunch, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season he will be up for grabs very soon. Villa want to resist all comers for his signature in the new year, but spending big sums hasn’t bothered the club up to this point, and should they make a tempting offer around the £12m mark they would have a defensive rock that is comfortable with the ball at his feet to settle into the middle and provide some much needed leadership back there.
