Four old heads to save Liverpool’s season.
It is becoming all the more clear that, Steven Gerrard aside, Liverpool may well be struggling due to an overly youthful squad this season. The Reds regularly rely on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Javier Manquillo, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic – all players too young to be carrying a club of Liverpool’s size.

Gerrard’s decline in peformances, in addition to the departures of experienced players such as Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina and the recent retirement of Jamie Carragher mean the club is losing experience and leadership on the pitch. Despite plenty of talent, the team needs some old heads to come in and help them through this difficult spell.
Here are four big names all at their peak who could be excellent additions to this Liverpool squad this January:
1) Petr Cech (Chelsea)
Recently linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal, Petr Cech would make a superb signing for the Reds as he looks to leave Stamford Bridge for first-team football. Not only is the 32-year-old still a world class goalkeeper, he has won everything there is to win at club level and would add some real know-how and fighting spirit to this Liverpool team.
