The Red Devils boss only took over at Old Trafford this summer, but has already made some radical and controversial changes to the first-team squad, letting a host of under-performers leave whilst spending big on some new and exciting transfers coming into the club.
Falcao was seen as one of these marquee deals, with the Colombian striker joining the club on loan from AS Monaco with a view to a permanent move, though he has struggled in the Premier League so far.
Injuries have disrupted the 28-year-old’s progress, and it looks increasingly likely that United will not take up the option to sign the player permanently.
Meanwhile, van Persie has also been worryingly off form this season, with the 31-year-old Dutchman looking unfit and possibly past his best, recently being linkedf with a surprise move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.
It could be a blow for United to lose both these big players, though Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has recently been linked as a replacement.
