Cruz Azul Step Up Club World Cup Preparations With A Win

Cruz Azul will be CONCACAF’s representative in FIFA’s Club World Cup in Morocco this month.

They are currently in Spain preparing for the tournament.

They beat Spanish Second Division team El Palo 4-0 in a friendly last night.

Goals from Mariano Pavone, Anibal Zurdo, Pablo Barrera and an own goal saw them emerge as comfortable winners.

They play West Sydney Wanderers in the quarter final of the Club World Cup on 13th December, with the winner facing Real Madrid three days later on the 16th.

The final will be held in Marrakesh on December the 20th.

San Lorenzo, CONMEBOL’s entrant, will play either Auckland City, ES Setif, or Moghreb Tetouan in the other semi final.
