Emirates Stadium side look to bring in quality midfield addition.
Arsenal will test Southampton’s resolve with a £15m January bid for midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin according to The Sun.
The 25 year old French international had been strongly linked with a St Mary’s exit over the summer but Ronald Koeman managed to keep hold of the former Strasbourg man having seen a number of his squad follow former manager Mauricio Pochettino to a Saints exit.
Schneiderlin has had an outstanding campaign this season and is a player Arsene Wenger will look to bring in to help boost his midfield options.
Though Arsenal possess many creative options they certainly lack steel in the centre of the park and a move for the Southampton man would certainly help to add more balance to Wenger’s starting eleven.
With Southampton sitting in third spot in the Premier League one imagines it could prove hard to persuade the club to sell and a move next summer may prove more likely to succeed, especially if Koeman’s side fails to keep it’s footing in the top four.
Schneiderlin is into his seventh season at Southampton and has played a key role in helping the club progress from League One to the upper echelons of the Premier League.
