Reds working on double Chelsea raid.
Liverpool could be set to make a surprise transfer raid on their rivals Chelsea this January, with two Blues players recently linked as top targets for manager Brendan Rodgers, according to various sources.
The Northern Irishman is under big pressure to improve his squad after a tough start to the season, and it looks as though attacking players are his main priority as the club still continues to get over the summer departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Despite a number of links to different big-name players around Europe, it may be that Liverpool will look close to home to improve their attack, as they seemingly line up a double raid on Stamford Bridge.
The two players attracting interest from the Reds are as follows:
1) Fernando Torres
According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are plotting a surprise move to re-sign Fernando Torres from Chelsea this January. The Spanish striker has been highly disappointing since he left the Reds for Stamford Bridge in a £50m deal in 2011, but could be available this winter after his failed loan move at AC Milan. A gamble no doubt, but perhaps a return to Anfield would revive Torres’ flagging career.
