Jorge Mendes suggests that Ronaldo will finish his career in Madrid.

Any lingering hopes that Manchester United fans have of the club managing to lure former Stretford End hero Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club from European champions Real Madrid appear to have been dashed, report the Mirror, with the Portuguese forward’s agent suggesting that his client is keen to finish his career at the Bernabeu.

There had been a number of media reports, particularly towards the beginning of this season, that had suggested Ronaldo was becoming unsettled in Madrid and could be keen on a move back to Old Trafford, but these fresh comments from Mendes would appear to pour cold water on that particular suggestion:

“I believe that Cristiano will finish his career at Real Madrid. He’s happy at the club and is still keen to achieve more success in Madrid.”

Ronaldo has kicked on since joining Real from the Red Devils, becoming an even more powerful and devastating performer than he was during his wonderful last couple of seasons in the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson, with the Portuguese widely tipped to lift the Ballon d’Or for the second successive year ahead of his great rival Lionel Messi.

Jorge Mendes has been dubbed a ‘superagent’ due to the world class quality clients he has on his payroll and also the exorbitant sums involved in their transfers, but he is also known to look after his players and it is clear that Mendes is keen to see Ronaldo stay in the Spanish capital.
