The France Under-21 international has struggled for game time since joining the Gunners from Auxerre on a free transfer last year and he is expected to be allowed to temporarily leave the club next month.
Both Crystal Palace and Lorient had been hoping to strike their own deals for his services over the coming month, but Bordeaux have stolen a march on them by getting their enquiry in early.
Sanogo himself is thought to favour the move, while Arsene Wenger will be happy for him to get a regular run of games under his belt.
Sanogo broke into Auxerre’s side in 2012 and scored 10 times in just 13 Ligue 2 appearances.
