Ligue 1 sides Lorient and Bordeaux are not to be keen on landing the French Under-21 international but Arsene Wenger will look to send the youngster to a Premier League side so as to hand the forward some much needed English top tier experience.
Crystal Palace were also known to be interested but having seen Neil Warnock leave the club the Eagles may well have other plans.
Sanogo grabbed his first senior Arsenal goal when he netted against Borussia Dortmund in November and Wenger sees the former Auxerre man as very much one for the future and has confirmed a likely short term switch, stating;
“It’s a possibility. I would prefer him to go to a Premier League club.
“He is a goal scorer, he’s not frightened and a guy who is naturally aggressive.”
Paul Lambert could well do with reinforcements up front with his side having scored just 11 goals in their opening 19 Premier League fixtures.
