Arsenal transfer news.
Inter are hoping to tie up the deal over the weekend which will see Podolski initially head to the San Siro on-loan before making the switch permanent at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has cut a frustrated figure at the Emirates Stadium in recent times as first team opportunities have become fewer and far between for the 2014 World Cup winner.
Arsene Wenger is also happy to allow Podolski to leave as it is clear that the German is not in his first team plans and it will also free up some extra funds for signings of his own during the January transfer window.
It’s believed that a central midfielder and possibly a centre-back are the priorities for Wenger over the next month, although with the attacker leaving another signing in the final third is also a possibility.
Podolski joined the Gunners from his boyhood side FC Cologne in the summer of 2012 and has since played 82 times for the North London club in all competitions, scoring 31 goals.
