After recent controversy in which Szczesny was reportedly fined for smoking in the shower and was involved in an explosive dressing room bust-up following the defeat to Southampton, there was speculation that the Poland international’s future was under threat.
However, Gunners boss Wenger has expressed his support for the stopper, hinting that the 24 year old is set to regain his place on Sunday.
Szczesny has reportedly spoken with the Arsenal manager privately throughout the week and has been reassured that he will be judged by his performances on the pitch and on the training ground.
Wenger will still be hoping that the 24 year old’s behaviour – and performances – start to improve.
