Song has played a crucial role in the Hammers’ superb season so far that has seen the Irons sitting comfortably at seventh place in the league table, and Sam Allardyce will be keen to keep the 27 year old at Upton Park beyond the end of the season.

Barcelona are currently serving a transfer embargo as punishment by FIFA, but are allowed to sell players.

The West Ham boss knows plenty of clubs will be interested in Song if Barcelona allow the midfielder a permanent move away from the club given his excellent performances for the Hammers so far, but Allardyce will be hoping to have the edge over any rivals when the loan move comes to an end.
