The 38-year-old is a minority owner of the team and mentioned the potential return to playing at a press conference with the mayor of Fort Lauderdale and some of the NASL leadership.

The return of the three time FIFA World Player Of The Year to the game would be welcomed by many, but he would still have a lot of work to do to get back in to shape. The latter stages of his career were hit by injuries and his own lack of fitness.

However, the Brazilian has said that he still loves football, and wants to have another go at playing. He is also sure that he can have a positive effect on the US second division side.

He said when asked about it, “That is not easy because I love to play, I love soccer, that was all my life my big love. When I retired, I stopped playing because of my body, so much pain and injuries.”

“To play a soccer game you have to be in very good shape. I will try for myself, it’s another challenge, I am sure it will help the league, help the team. I will train a lot, and if the (coach) needs me, maybe.”
