The 28-year-old’s future at Old Trafford looks in serious doubt at the moment after he was snubbed by Louis van Gaal for his side’s game against Southampton last weekend, failing to even make the bench despite a far from convincing display from his team-mates as they lost 1-0 to the Saints.

Falcao has previously been regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, though he has only netted three times so far in an injury-hit spell on loan at United from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

Despite having the option to make Falcao’s move to the club permanent for around £43m, it now seems unlikely that United will pursue this move, leaving other clubs to show an interest.

Roma are one of his admirers, and their Serie A rivals Juventus have also made enquiries as the player may be looking to leave in order to play more first-team football.
