Arsenal transfer news
The Gunners are known to be eyeing improvements to their backline this season after some unconvincing displays in a number of games, as well as due to a lack of depth in that area after Thomas Vermaelen’s departure to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
Moreno could be a useful signing as he seems to be available on the cheap, with Arsenal looking to avoid splashing the cash despite links to some more high-profile defenders such as Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels.
Moreno has been with Espanyol since 2011, and has notched up over 100 appearances for the club, establishing himself as a solid defensive player in the Spanish top flight.
Tottenham have also been linked with the Mexican international, but it is now thought that Arsenal would be favourites to win the race for his signature this month.
