Vydra, who now plies his trade at Watford with a number of the Chilean’s Serie A teammates, says he still keeps in touch with the forward and said Sanchez was almost like a coach in the ways he helped youngsters and new teammates feel a part of the side.
“He will help Arsenal’s players. When at Udinese, every day he tried to make his team-mates better and it’s good when someone helps you,” said Vydra to the Sun.
“I was there as a new player and didn’t speak Italian before that so he helped me with language.
“He was young but was like a coach and wanted to help. He told me about when you turn with the ball and then use speed to get away. Also with shooting, he helped me a lot.”
Sanchez was known as the Boy Wonder in Chile – Nino Maravilla – but Vydra says his teammates shortened it when he was in Italy to just ‘Nino’ like Fernando Torres.
Vydra now watches the Gunners specifically for Sanchez after becoming a fan of the North London side because of his Czech Republic pal Tomas Rosicky.
And despite Sanchez leaving Udinese in 2011, he says he still remembers their times in Italy with fondness.
“Nobody wants to be alone at home all the time! He spoke with everyone and was friendly.
“I think he is the best player in England and now one of the top players in the world”
He added: “I’m always watching Arsenal games. First Tomas Rosicky and now Alexis. When I see him I always remember the time at Udinese.”
