Real Madrid have won the race to sign 16-year-old Norwegian international Martin Odegaard, who has agreed to join the European Champions pending a medical – confirm BBC Sport.

The teenager has attracted interest from across Europe since making his debut for Stromsgodset last year. Odegaard, who isn’t 17 until December, was also watched by Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as a number of other European giants.

In August last year, he became the youngster player to feature in a senior international team, at 15 years and 253 days. Less that two months later he also became the youngest player to feature in a European Championship qualifier.
