The player has been the subject of interest from the Spanish giants since last summer, but Cruzeiro understandably wanted to hold on to one of their best assets until the conclusion of the Brazil Campeonato.

Midfielder Silva has reportedly signed a six and a half year deal with the European champions and has cost the club £14 million. Those close to the club are saying that he was brought in to fill the whole left by Xabi Alonso, with the ex-Liverpool midfielder joining Bayern Munich in August.
He is the second player to arrive at the Bernabeu this week, as the club confirmed the capture of Martin Odegaard on Wednesday.
The 21 year old made 58 appearances for Cruzeiro since making his debut in 2012, helping the club to back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014. He was named as the best defensive midfielder in the league in 2014 and has reportedly grabbed the attention of Brazil manager Dunga, though he is yet to receive a call up.
