West Brom news
McManaman has not been at his best for the Latics this season as they have plummeted from play-off losers last season to relegation favourites this, with neither player nor team’s form having picked up since the controversial appointment of former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay as Uwe Rosler’s replacement.
Pulis is likely to have McManaman’s displays for Wigan as they won the FA Cup in 2013 seared in his mind, however, with the club’s youth product arguably having been the most important player in that run despite his lack of experience.
McManaman showed pace and tricky under then manager Roberto Martinez, attributes that Pulis will be hoping that he can bring to a Baggies side who have lacked thrust in the final third when it isn’t coming from highly rated forward Saido Berahino.
