Real Madrid star suffered something of a meltdown during his side’s encounter with Cordoba over the weekend.
Cristiano Ronaldo could face a hefty 12 match ban following his sending off against Cordoba according to the Daily Mirror.

The Portuguese star lashed out at opposing defender Edimar and was given a straight red card by referee Alejandro Hernandez.
Ronaldo appeared to kick and punch the Cordoba man and hit out at another player before being ordered off though Gareth Bale saved Real Madrid’s blushes late on with a winner from the penalty spot.
A lengthy ban does on the face of it seem unlikely given that in his post-match report Hernandez didn’t deem the red card as a result of ‘violent conduct’ and as such a one match ban would be the standard level of punishment.
A one match ban would see Ronaldo miss a home fixture with Real Sociedad but any further censure could prove crucial as Real Madrid’s following La Liga fixtures come against potentially tricky opposition in the form of Sevilla or Atletico Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti would be loathed to lose Ronaldo for any length of time, such is his importance to the Bernabeu side, and the Italian will no doubt be hoping for as short a ban as possible.
Ronaldo moved to apologise for his behaviour following the incident, posting the message “I apologise to every and especially Edimar for my thoughtless act in the game today.” via his Twitter account.
