Old Trafford outcast wanted by West Brom.
West Bromwich Albion could revive their interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher before the transfer deadline, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Scotland international has been strongly linked with an exit from the Red Devils this winter, having fallen out of favour at the club after a long spell out of action through illness in recent years.
Fletcher had been targeted by West Ham United before a move fell through, but West Brom manager Tony Pulis is also keen on his services and could try a last-gap move for the 31-year-old.
The Scot has spent his entire career so far at Old Trafford, and had been a key player for the club under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson – who was known for trusting his side’s youth team graduates.
Still, sickness problems have seen Fletcher play just 34 Premier League games in the last four seasons, and the big-spending approach of Louis van Gaal in the transfer market has seen other midfielders move ahead of him in the pecking order.
