Mohamed was unveiled as Monterrey’s new manager on Monday.
Monterrey won 5-0 against Altamira in the Copa MX in new boss Antonio Mohamed’s first game in charge last night.
Mohamed was only officially confirmed as manager on Monday morning, but led his team into action less than 24 hours later and came away with a resounding win.
Goals from Pabon and Lopez put the hosts 2-0 up inside three minutes, and a brace from Madrigal along with a fifth from Cardona meant the tie was already over by half time.
Monterrey are 17th in the Liga MX after 6 games, a dramatic decline after they were losing semi finalists in last year’s post-season. Fans will hope that the new boss can continue the early promise and propel them up the table.
