This morning he was introduced as the new manager of Monterrey, saying he only accepted the role because of what Monterrey represents to him.

“Thank you. First of all I want to thank the club for this opportunity to fulfil my dream of being part of this club, now as a manager. My family and I thank you for this opportunity. It was a dream I had and I’m excited it came true. I hope to give you all good results. I offer my full commitment to the team,” declared Mohamed after his arrival.

Fans are delighted with appointment the news as they have been protesting about the previous manager for several weeks and Mohamed is a club legend. He played for Monterrey from 1998 to 2000 and became an idol for their fans thanks to a creative wizardry that was among the best in the league.

The Argentine’s first task will be moving his new team away from the bottom of the league table – they are currently 17th after 6 games.

This will be the eighth club for Mohamed as a manager during his career in Mexico, having managed Zacatepec, Morelia, Queretaro, Chiapas, Veracruz, Tijuana and America.
