GK – Diego Alves

The Valencia stopper will have felt disappointed not to have been included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, but far from let his game decline, he has bounced back with another eight clean sheets this season in 24 games.

RB – Danilo

The Porto right-back has attracted Premier League interest with some impressive performances this season and last. He has scored four goals in 26 appearances, fitting the mould of an attacking Brazilian full-back, and may well move on to greater heights in the near future.

CB – Thiago Silva

Widely regarded as one of the best central defenders in the world and provides a solid base for his more volatile partner David Luiz for both club and country. A rock at the back who is currently enjoying his peak years.

LB – Filipe Luis

Enjoyed a brilliant four seasons at Atletico Madrid, topping it off by winning the La Liga title, before then moving to Chelsea where he has gone on to enjoy further success.
