OL returned to the top of the league with a convincing rout of MHSC
Olympique Lyonnais demonstrated their championship credentials with a devastating 5-1 victory over Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1.
Hubert Fournier’s side started badly, falling behind through Lucas Barrios after some sloppy defending.
However, while their play at the back raised some concerns, Lyon are made of stern stuff and offensively, had more than enough power in attack to cause Montpellier problems.
Alex Lacazette levelled the contest from the spot after the magical Nabil Fekir was brought down in the box. After that, Lyon ran rampant and pulled ahead with four more goals-Lacazette scored another late on, Corentin Tolisso also found the net, while Fekir also scored two.
His first, after superb interchange with Yoann Gourcuff, was the pick of the bunch!
Lyon march on…
