Lyon are firmly in the title race with only eight games to go in the top flight. They suffered a surprise defeat to OGC Nice last weekend—dropped points which may have grave consequences for their title aspirations—but they are only one point behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

If OL can beat En Avant de Guingamp, and if Olympique de Marseille prevent PSG from winning at the Stade Velodrome, then they will return to the top of the table by Sunday evening.

One of their stars this campaign has been Franco-Algerian forward Nabil Fekir.

Despite overtures from the North Africans, Fekir opted to play for Didier Deschamps’s Bleus, and made his debut for national side against Brazil last weekend.

He then featured again against Denmark in another international friendly on Sunday evening.

“It’s going to give me a lot more motivation, even though I was already very motivated,” began Fekir, as reported by Ligue1.com.

“With Lyon, there is a very good end to the season in store. And it’ll be up to us to put in some good displays to stay as high up the table as possible.”

OL travel to Guingamp for the early kickoff on Saturday.
