OGC Nice and Evian Thonon Gaillard shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Riviera.
The relegation battlers played out an entertaining draw on the south coast as each moved a little further from the bottom three.
The visitors received a penalty on 10 minutes when Simon Pouplin tripped Clarck N’Sikulu in the box. However, the stopper went from zero to hero a moment later when he saved Daniel Wass’s weak spotkick.
It was Evian who eventually took the lead though, as Dany Nounkeu rose high to put the Croix de la Savoie ahead.
Local hero Alexy Bosetti bagged an equaliser, before Valentin Eysseric made it 2-1.
However, there was a final sting in the tail as Adrian Thomasson’s long-range effort was deflected past Pouplin to ensure that Evian returned to the Rhone-Alpes with a point.
The 2-2 draw means that Pascal Dupraz’s side end the day on 36 points, in 14th place, four clear of the relegation zone. Nice are faring little better, they find themselves in 12th position, sixth off Toulouse in 18th.
