The lineup for the Champions League semi-final draw is finally complete after an enthralling round of quarter final fixtures which saw many twists and turns.
Real Madrid managed to squeeze their way past city rivals Atletico in an extremely tight affair, with Manchester United loanee Javier Hernandez scoring the only goal of the tie in the 88th minute of the second leg. Arda Turan was also sent off for two bookable offences in a bad tempered affair.
The semi-final could throw up an all Spanish encounter as Barcelona eased their way past Chelsea’s conquerors, Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 on aggregate. Neymar bagged a brace at the Nou Camp in the second leg.
Pep Guardiola could end up meeting his former club though, as he once again guided Bayern Munich through to the last four. The German giants overcame a 3-1 first leg deficit with a crushing 6-1 win at the Allianz Arena to win the tie 7-4 on aggregate.
An impressive defensive showing on the French Riviera saw Juventus take their place in the final four of the Champions League for the first time in 12 years with a 1-0 aggregate win over Arsenal’s victors Monaco.
