Europa League semi-final draw: Holders Sevilla to play Fiorentina as all Italian final remains possible

The semi-final draw for the Europa League was made this morning and it kept alive the prospect of an all Italian final, which could potentially be bad news for the English UEFA coefficient.

Europa League holders Sevilla with play Fiorentina, who saw of Tottenham back in the round of 32 and have since gone on to beat Dynamo Kiev, who eliminated Everton in the round of 16, and fellow Serie A side Roma.

Sevilla, on the other hand, came through a thorough examination from Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg, beating them 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw in the east.

Rafa Benitez remained on course to lift the Europa League as his final act as Napoli boss, like he did at Chelsea, after knocking out second placed Bundesliga side Wolfsburg – following a crushing 4-1 away win in Germany. Their reward was a tie against Ukrainian surprise package Dnipro, who have already seen off the lieks of Club Brugge and Dutch side Ajax.
