The Argentine playmaker may have struggled during his first few seasons at the Parc des Princes, but this season he has come into his own.

In 30 Ligue 1 appearances to date, the former Palermo man has contributed 12 assists and scored five goals.

His form has prompted Eric Cantona to identify the 27-year-old as the ‘best player in the world’, fuelling rumours of a summer move to one of Europe’s genuine giants, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in his services.

If Los Merengues have been keeping an eye on the languid creative midfielder, they will be encouraged by what they saw against Metz.

Pastore contributed three assists as PSG romped to victory against Les Grenats, including this superb pass for Edinson Cavani’s goal—the Parisians’ second.

His performance helped push Paris back to the top of the Ligue 1 table and the Argentine will be confident that he will soon be lifting his third domestic championship.
