Liverpool are lining up a £14.4 million move for Real Madrid outcast Denis Cheryshev according to the Metro.
The 24-year-old has been on loan at Villarreal this season, helping the Yellow Submarine in to a respectable sixth place in La Liga. His seven goals in all competitions have also helped the side to cup runs in the Copa del Rey and the Europa League.
With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and James Rodriguez taking up the forward positions for the Galacticos, the Galacticos are willing to let the winger leave. However, Los Blancos are apparently not keen on seeing the Russia international lining up for a domestic rival past this season, effectively ruling out Villarreal as a potential destination for Cheryshev this summer.
With Reds looking unlikely to qualify for the Champions League and out of the FA Cup, they could well be looking to improve their squad before the next campaign. Cheryshev may be the first of several arrivals at Anfield.
