Arsenal have been given the green light to complete a £32.9m deal for Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to reports in The Metro.
The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a move away from the La Liga giants in the past month with a surprise switch to the Emirates Stadium widely touted in the media and now fresh reports indicate that he is willing to join the North London outfit in the summer.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the 23-year-old having previously been credited with an interest in the player whilst he was a hot prospect at Malaga but they were beaten to his signature by Los Blancos in the summer of 2013.
Should the Spain international make the switch to the Premier League then it is almost certain to raise questions over the future of Jack Wilshere who has been linked with a £30million move to Manchester City when the transfer window opens.
Both players have the capacity to play in a number 10 role or slightly deeper and their playing styles are very similar so it is very unlikely that they could play alongside each other meaning there can only be space for one.
