The Chilean’s free-kick came off former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson and wrong-footed Steve Harper in goal:

The goal comes after the the Gunners have been marginally the better side as they have dominated possession and went close through Sanchez, whose powerful effort from just outside the area was well saved by Steve Harper.

Sone Aluko wasted a good opening to break the deadlock for hosts mid-way through the first half but he made a mess of a free header from close range after a brilliant left-wing cross by Robbie Brady.

The Gunners came into the fixture three points behind second placed Manchester City but have a game in hand and will almost certainly secure a top-four finish with a victory at the KC Stadium.

Meanwhile the Tigers are just two points clear of the relegation zone after results at the weekend went against Steve Bruce’s side as Leicester, Aston Villa and Sunderland all picked up victories.
