Stamford Bridge side chase Bernabeu winger.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to take advantage of Gareth Bale’s apparently uncertain future at the Bernabeu with the Metro claiming the Blues will test Real Madrid’s resolve with an £80m bid for the Welshman.
The 25 year old has come in for a fair amount of criticism of late, from fans and pundits alike, and this source claims that the language barrier may be holding back the former Tottenham man.
Real Madrid paid a world record £86m fee for Bale and in the creative wide-man had a superb debut season, netting 22 goals in all competitions and playing a key role in their march to Champions League and Copa del Rey titles, however his second campaign has stuttered a fair bit.
The addition of James Rodriguez last summer has led to more competition for spots in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven but Bale, when fit, has been a regular starter but has managed just three goals in his last 18 matches.
Jose Mourinho may well feel a front three the chance to field Bale in an attack that would also include Eden Hazard and Diego Costa would provide Chelsea with a good basis for a push for a Champions League success, as well as renewed domination in England, and one wonders if a massive bid would be considered by Real Madrid.
