Reds in the running for Serie A star.

Liverpool are weighing up a move to sign Inter Milan’s tough-tackling defensive midfielder Gary Medel in this summer’s transfer window, according to sources in Spain.

The Reds need a replacement for Steven Gerrard after his move to LA Galaxy, with the team now looking a little light in the middle of the park.

Medel impressed in a first spell in the Premier League with Cardiff City, even though he couldn’t help the Welsh side from relegation in the 2013/14 season.
