Manchester United ‘switch focus to £26m Chelsea target’ as Pedro signing in doubt

Red Devils prepare bid for Serie A star.

Manchester United could enter the running against Chelsea to sign Napoli winger Jose Callejon this summer, according to sources in Italy.

The Red Devils are said to be unsure over paying £23m to sign Barcelona wide-man Pedro, meaning Louis van Gaal is now looking elsewhere for options out wide to replace Angel Di Maria.

Callejon has been in superb form since moving to Napoli from Real Madrid, and arguably looks the more reliable option at the moment after consistently fine goalscoring form from out wide in Serie A.

Chelsea have made a £26m bid, and it looks increasingly likely that United will look to match that in the next couple of days after having second thoughts over a move for Pedro.
