Liverpool are reportedly chasing Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain as the Anfield side look to bring in a fresh effective goal-scoring option to lead their attack according to Spanish source Fichajes.

Brendan Rodgers has seen his side struggle this season and the Northern Irishman now sees €45m rated Argentine Higuain as a genuine target according to this source, though one would have to wonder if the former Real Madrid man would entertain the notion of a move to Anfield.

Higuain has proven a big success since leaving the Bernabeu for the San Paolo in July 2013, scoring 59 goals in 110 games for Napoli.
