Chelsea plotting four-man transfer raid on La Liga giants

With a lot of ground to cover in the Premier League to finish at the top of the table, it’s understandable that Chelsea would have a vested interest in bringing in reinforcements. As a result, it appears Jose Mourinho has his eyes on a quartet of superstars from La Liga.

According to the Metro, Chelsea are targeting Atletico Madrid stars Koke, Antoine Griezmann, and Diego Godin for transfer, along with manager Diego Simeone. The Metro translated the Spanish newspaper AS, which alleged that Chelsea have already made preparations to bring in Griezmann, Koke and Godin.

AS reported that as a result, Atletico Madrid have offered improved deals to the three stars.

As for Simeone, the trophy-winning manager and two-time La Liga Coach of the Year, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly willing to launch a £14.8 million bid to get him released from his La Liga contract.

Diego Simeone owns four major trophy wins for the Calderon outfit, winning the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, Copa Del Ray, Supercopa de Espana and the La Liga title.

Last year Chelsea acquired leading scorer Diego Costa and renowned flop Felipe Luis in transfer deals from Atletico Madrid.
