Tuesday’s biggest Man United news and transfer rumour roundup.

Manchester United play “disgusting” football and resemble “robots” under manager Louis van Gaal, according to the club’s former winger Andrei Kanchelskis, The Sun reports.

Only Kanchelskis went a lot further and deeper than Scholes as criticism of the Dutch boss grew following three goalless draws and last week’s Capital One Cup defeat to Championship side Middlesbrough.

Manchester United are monitoring Leicester City’s in-form Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez, 24, the Daily Mail reports.

The Algeria international has been on United’s radar since last season but his continued improvement has prompted them to take a closer look.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 30, has put other clubs on alert after saying he could finish his career away from Los Blancos, The Guardian reports.

Ronaldo, whose contract with Real Madrid expires in 2018, has not yet decided what path his career will take next but is not offering any guarantees about finishing his playing days at the Santiago Bernabéu where Real play Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Manchester United and West Ham have been put on alert after Brazil and Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato hinted he is interested in a move to England. The former AC Milan forward, 26, hopes to move to Spain or England, Radio Globo reports.

Pato does not expect to make his move to Sao Paulo permanent, while Corinthians have expressed no interest in keeping the 26-year-old.
