Is ex-Chelsea boss trying to block Mourinho’s move to European giants?

Carlo Ancelotti has come out in support for Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc, with Jose Mourinho recently linked to the hotseat at the Parc des Princes.

Blanc has achieved great success in the French capital, but he hasn’t always had the complete support of the club’s chiefs, and has been heavily linked with the exit door.

Despite recent suggestions that PSG are keen to tie Blanc down to a new contract, Mourinho has been heavily linked with a move to the French capital, with the reigning Ligue 1 champions keen to appoint a high-profile manager who can give the club the kind of global status they crave.

The Mourinho PSG rumours have been coming thick and fast.

A switch to Paris may also represent an appealing escape route for Mourinho from Chelsea, where he is enduring perhaps the worst season of his career.

The Pensioners have lost seven of their 13 matches to date, winning only four, and find themselves a whopping 12 points off the Champions League places.

However, speaking to RMC [as per Le 10 Sport], former Chelsea and PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti has urged the French heavyweights to keep hold of Blanc.

“One of the most important things for a club it is the continuity of the coach. If you have the chance to do that, it’s good for the club, for players and for results,” Ancelotti began.

“Laurent is doing a great job!”
