West Ham face competition from China for striking target

West Ham United will have to see off moneybags Shanghai Shenhua if they are to sign Galatasarary frontman Burak Yilmaz.

In November, the Hammers were linked with a move for the towering forward, who is capable of leading the line, but also of shining on the right flank.

Yilmaz has no experience of life outside the Turkish top flight, but talkSPORT reported that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is a big admirer of the powerful hitman.

Gala have admitted that they are open to offloading the 30-year-old, seemingly opening the door for a switch to East London and a transfer to the Boleyn Ground.

Lazio are also understood to be keen on the frontman, and may look to challenge the Premier League outfit for the talented attacker.

The two European sides may also face competition from China, with Hurriyet revealing that Shanghai Shenhua have offered €8 million for the player, and Gala are putting pressure on the veteran attacker to accept a switch away from Istanbul.
