Chelsea fans have been waiting anxiously for the club to make another big splash in the transfer window to give them a measure of hope. It looks like their wishes are about to be granted with the club poised to sign Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira, a remarkable scoring winger.
According to the Metro, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Teixeira that could be worth up to £30 million. The 25-year-old Brazilian is reportedly in “advanced talks” with the Blues over a switch.
Teixeira was the top goalscorer in the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2014-15 season, scoring 17 goals in 22 matches en route to a second-place club finish and a trip to the Champions League. Since the start of the 2015-16 season he has already gotten off to a very fast start, scoring 26 goals in 25 competitions.
The Brazilian winger joined Shakhtar Donetsk late in 2009 and made his debut at the end of the 2009-10 season. He went on to win five straight Ukrainian Premier League titles with the club.
