Chelsea star Eden Hazard worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo according to study

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been valued higher than Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo according to CIES Football Observatory.

After releasing their bi-annuel listings, Hazard is considered to be worth €130.5m which is more than the Portuguese superstar who came in at €114m.

The study is based on an “exclusive algorithm” which considers various factors including age, position, contract and many more characteristics concerning the players themselves and the league in which they play to determine how much each individual is worth.

As a result, it is felt that Ronaldo’s age certainly plays a factor in the reasoning behind his ranking, and despite a disappointing season thus far for Hazard, he remains one of the leading talents in the world having picked up PFA and Football Writers’ player of the year awards last season.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi unsurprisingly takes top spot after being valued at €250.7m, and given that the Argentinian international is still performing at a high level as he enters the peak years of his career, it remains to be seen whether or not that figure increases in the next release.

Neymar completes the top three while Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez ensure that there is a strong Premier League contingent in the top 10.

However, there is no place for any Manchester United player in the top 10, with Anthony Martial sitting in 11th spot with a valuation of €77.8m after impressing since his summer arrival from Monaco.
